The aim of this BA thesis entitled Computerization of the Estonian Newspaper Organizations on the Example of Edasi/Postimees was to describe a period of implementing computers to the newspaper production process in the Estonian daily newspaper Edasi starting from 1990. The thesis begins with an overview of the theoretical background of the subject including a discussion of the relations between technology and medium. This part is followed by a concise overview of the technological development of newspaper production from Linotype to desktop publishing in the Western world and descriptions of some previous research efforts on the subject.
